Lilly starts school.

As she got out of the van on that first day of school she said, "You probably want to take a picture of me, huh?" I grabbed my camera but barely got a shot off because she was so excited to get her little butt in the door! All summer she begged me to let her got to kindergarten. She didn't understand why she had to wait a year. So, reluctantly, I signed her up for preschool at Miss Emily's. The preschool is just around the corner from our house. She is so independent! She wants to walk on her own and when I let her, while I drive slowly next to her, she sprints the whole way! She loves school. But we see an emerging trend with our little school-goer. She makes up a lot of stories. (Lies.) There is a boy named "Jelly" that has lots of interesting things happening to him in class (I know all the kids in her class and there is no "Jelly.") Lilly came home one day and cried, "Miss Emily didn't give me any snacks at snack time! She gave snacks to everyone else but not me!" she wailed. "Well, did you do something that got your snack privilege taken away?" I asked. "No. She didn't know that she missed me." "Well, everyone makes mistakes. Next time just tell her that you need some." Two days later as Lilly was talking to me about school she was recounting all the snacks that week and she mentioned the goldfish crackers on Monday. "Are the goldfish crackers the ones you didn't get?" She quickly replied, "Yep. I only got 15 of them." "What? You did get a treat that day? You told me Miss Emily forgot to give you a treat." "No, she didn't forget, she just gave me 15 and everyone else got 16." Lilly is a little stinker!
If you hear something about us from my daughter just know that it's probably a lie. S-T-I-N-K-E-R!

Brielle would come home from Miss Emily's and tell me all sorts of lies too. About kids visiting the class that didnt, jumping on couches etc... Then I would ask her, is that a story? and she would say "yes" but if I didnt ask that she can be very convincing and I have no idea what to believe. too funny :) Lily is getting so big- such a cute girl

I'm just now catching up on your Blog Wendy... this one prompts a story. My Mother tells it to this day as she met with my first grade teacher...and was told *Brenda has THE most ACTIVE imagination*... my Mother wonders, to this day (with fear) exactly what I had told the teacher~
