State Fair Adventures

Along with winning ribbons at the State Fair, there is an ecclectic list of things to do and see...
There are robots that talk directly to you and amaze 7 year old boys...
There are legos to play with and lego city displays. By the way, Legos are way more fun at the state fair than in your own room.
Max got to pretend to drive a real police motorcycle.

Lilly got to milk a fake cow. She tried to stick her mouth down there to catch the "milk". Don't worry, we stopped her!
Max brought his friend Kyler. They had so much fun! Can you tell Max didn't like the scent of the chickens?
Lilly loved seeing the duckies and chickens. She did NOT like going down the giant slide with Daddy! DID NOT!!!

Kyler got roped into being the girl. Someone had to.
We always love looking at the art, home-spun craft projects, food products/canning (including the bread that wins a ribbon every year that my friend Jen enters it,) quilts, garden entries, livestock, and telling our kids, every year, that we don't allow rides since they are not strictly regulated. They are going to grow up to be carnies out of rebellion. If you haven't gone to the fair yet, you should! Where else can you try fried alligator or frog legs (Max and Alan did try the latter--yuck!) and a loaf of cheese fries? Kitschy fun. Right up my alley!

you'll be pleased to hear that I have already purchased wrist bands for my kids so they will not only be riding rides, but will be riding UNLIMITED rides. :) I will try to put out of my mind the unregulated part of your post and hope for safety while they are riding.

We are headed up there this weekend. Whitney won the grand prize for her bag that sewed (that's totally not spelled right.) Can't wait!(:
