So, last night, after Dad had tried to pull Max's loose tooth and failed...I asked Max if I could have a shot. He looked at me, skeptically. "O.K. But one try. If it hurts, you stop." One try. Out it popped. I was satisfied. Max was happy. I woke up this morning and realized I had forgotten to put money under his pillow. Oh, he was going to be disappointed! Max is ALWAYS awake before the rest of the family, with few exceptions. I was certain I had missed my opportunity. I still gave it a go. I grabbed some quarters from Al's stash and popped them in my robe pocket. I quietly opened his door. He woke up but didn't lift his head from his pillow. In one ninja motion I sat on his bed and slid the coins under the pillow. No tooth, though. (We had put his tooth in a plastic snack bag) Max had his pillow clutched, so I am amazed that I was able to get these coins under there. "Did she come?", I said. "No. She took the tooth but didn't leave me anything. I've looked everywhere." As he spoke I lifted the pillow. There were the quarters. He was AMAZED.
Later, as he sipped hot cocoa, he said, "Oh, Mom. You are my official tooth puller now. I am glad I can finally trust you."

ROFL! That's awesome! Good thing you took that ninja class in college.
finally??? That is HYSTERICAL!
Wow, those are some fast moves! What a cute smile!
So..what happened to his tooth??
As usual, your family stories remind me of something that happened in my past... The LAST time the tooth fairy came to see me (50 years ago), I had already checked the wooden mantle where I left my tooth, tooth still there. I jumped up to go to the bathroom, heard my folks in the kitchen making breakfast...I called out loudly... *when I get done in here I am going to see what the tooth fairy left me*........immediate total silence.....then scramble scramble... I went back to the mantle, the tooth was gone and a shiny dime had taken its place!!
What have you done before that you couldn't be trusted? That is funny, "finally"
