Major Catch UP! Just the beginning...

Wow! It seems like another life since I've written a blog post! I didn't have a computer for nearly the entire summer. I feel like I have to get back in the groove of recording our family's daily doings. Where to begin? The summer seemed to fly by. For so many months I was busy preparing my 20 year mission reunion. The reunion happened at the end of July. July is a total blur. I don't remember celebrating the 4th or the 24th. What did I do in July other than plan a reunion? There was such excited anticipation for our reunion. I wish more could have come...I've heard from so many that they wish they could have been there. We had a great turn out though! We had people visiting from Hawaii, Canada, Florida, etc... It was fantastic to see my dear friends and a handful of the senior couples we served with. We all slipped right back into our comfortable, familial feelings as if it was yesterday that we were sharing our time on the Square.

Kristen (Peterson) Walton, Maleen (Merritt) Nielsen--the funniest person I've ever known!, and Me

I don't know what President thought of this cake. Knowing Pres. I would have guessed he loved seeing his image all over...but I think it gave him pause when he saw how many missionaries were eating his face with such glee!

Not everyone was here for this photo. A lot of people could only make it to the midday picnic. I regret we could not capture everyone that came for the dinner. I can't explain how much I adore these two women.

Some of the group we could catch for a picture at the picnic. (We could not keep Lilly from trying to get in the picture!)

We enjoyed a yummy buffet of Cafe Rio enchiladas while we listened to everyone share their feelings about what Temple Square means to them. It was funny and sweet. It brought tears to everyone's eyes. We did not want the night to end. If it wasn't so hard to plan and get everyone's schedules to match, we could have a reunion once a month! I feel immensely grateful that I got to serve as a Temple Square missionary. These friendships mean the world to me! I didn't stop grinning that whole day!

You did an amazing job of planning the reunion, Wendy. Well-executed from beginning to end. Thank you so much. It was so delightful to be there and see everyone.
