Last year my attempt to help Max with his egg drop idea was a bust. He declared my help was his greatest downfall. SO...this year it was all him. And...SUCCESS! I was happy for him...even if all he won was an airhead candy. We put his raw egg in a tub of Jello. I used whatever Jello was close to expiring in my pantry (not big Jello eaters are we.) This resulted in a blue and orange striped Jello. I let one batch almost set, added the egg then poured the next batch on top. Then we wrapped the container in bubble wrap, set that in a box surrounded by newspaper. Voila! I really gross, slimy, blue and orange stained...but intact egg! I forgot to photograph the egg at the finish but I dug back into the garbage to get you this picture of the broken container. Lucky me, I was helping to judge the eggs so I got familiar with a lot of salmonella that day.
(Side-note: I am very late in posting about this egg drop which happened quite a number of weeks ago. Bad mommy.)
