I hope you had a nice Easter Sunday. We enjoyed it tremendously. The kids are at a fun age where they both believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy, etc... They embrace all of it and get so excited. It's fun! Max takes after me and wakes up at the crack of dawn. I pulled him into my bed and got another half hour out of him (although he didn't sleep and was pretty fidgety.) I told him to go wake up Lil and we would go downstairs to see if there were any filled baskets. 6:30 a.m. They always love searching for eggs...maybe they'd eat their dinner better if I hid it all over the house and made them find it. Max is really "into" Bill Cosby right now. He almost has the entire 2 hours of "Bill Cosby--Himself" memorized and he's catching up on all the Cosby shows he's been deprived of seeing until now. The Easter Bunny, in his/her infinite wisdom, brought Max 10 episodes of The Cosby Show! He was most excited about that. $3.99 at Target, thank you.
Lil got a pretty stuffed bunny and she didn't want to let him stay home so he came to church with us. Max got his first "real" tie. No clip ons or zip ups for him. He looked so handsome. I forgot to take a picture.
We loved going to church and sharing this special day with our ward family. I got to sign the meeting for Wendy. I can tell when she is touched by the message and feels like her Father in Heaven is talking directly to her. It makes me feel so grateful that I can be a part of that...no matter the many mistakes I make in translating...she feels the Spirit and the message gets to her. It's a beautiful thing.
Easter dinner was just the four of us. Rib-Eye roast, funeral potatoes, and a Gruyère, mushroom & shallot tart (Al and Max pronounced that the winner!) I personally, liked the coconut cupcakes for dessert. Thank you Ina Garten for the very best coconut cupcake recipe EVER! They are an Easter tradition around here.
