30 years old!

We just got back from a perfectly delightful evening with Max's birth-Mom and her entire family, celebrating Celeste's 30th birthday. Max got to play with cousins and be loved up by his Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt's and Uncle's. We feel so lucky that he comes from such a superb family and blessed that we are included in their lives. I can see that Max feels proud of his birth-Mom and I recognize the flush of happiness it brings him to see her and feel loved by so many people. I wish all adoptions could work out this beautifully.

One of the unexpected highlights of the night was seeing lots of pictures of Celeste as a child. Until now, we had never really seen a resemblance between Max and his birth-Mom. (They are alike in personality!) That all changed when we viewed some of Celeste's childhood photos! We recognized so much of her in Max! So fun...such a wonderful night! Fantastic people!
Lilly gained another Grandma tonight since Crystal didn't stop playing with little Lil!
Lilly said, "I love that lady." Isn't that sweet?

To cute...I have no words!

Isn't Celeste so pretty?! Angela, her sister, is sitting next to her.
I didn't catch a great picture of her--she is strikingly beautiful but
I caught her with her eyes closed.

Celeste, reading the card Max made. I forgot to make a photocopy of it.
He drew a scene showing the attempted murder of Lilly, Daddy trying to stop him,
and me, oblivious to the mayhem because I was busy doing laundry. It was
hilarious...and potentially damning to Max if used as evidence in a future trial.

Little Celeste is in the red on the far right. I can see my boy in
that adorable little girl's face!

Here are just a few of the sweet, wonderful people that make up my
cute boy's DNA. I'm so happy this is where he comes from!
We LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

You really MUST get a copy of that card.

I love your relationship with Celeste!

Your post brings tears to my eyes. You are an amazing woman and I admire so much you are able to share your special little boy with his birth mom. I don't know if I could share like you do. You are amazing to me!

You are amazing. I love that you are so close with Celeste, she is gorgeous!

P.S. That sounds like a picture Afton and Adam could draw of Rachel, those baby girls know how to terrorize their loved ones!
