We have The Diary of Anne Frank next on our list of books to read with Max. We've told him the story before but when we saw that the Salt Lake Library was hosting a limited showing of a small exhibit about Anne Frank we were excited to take the kids. The exhibit is done as an extension of the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. It is fantastic. It is very hard not to cry (I failed at any attempt to stop the tears.) They show the timeline of Anne's life and below that they show what was happening at the same time in relation to Hitler's rise to power. They also have a small model of the "secret annex" where Anne and her family lived for over 2 years. It is a powerful reminder of things we must never forget. I'm looking forward to reading this lovely book again with my son. I hope it becomes a cherished part of his life. We are so lucky and blessed. If you haven't seen it and would like to go, the exhibit is to remain at the library until May 11th.

Masterpiece Classics has a wonderful version of Diary of Anne Frank. And our city has an Anne Frank Museum with a tree taken as one of the saplings from the tree by the Secret Annexe. You can google it for a virtual tour.
I´ve read the Diary of Anne Frank as a child, too. She was a wonderful and strong Girl! I have to read it with my Son, too. Great idea!
Hope you and your Family are well!
Hug´s,
Verena
Whitney really wants to go to this. I'll have to get up there with her to see it.
