We made a family trip to the Children's Museum recently. Alan had never been there and it was crazy busy. But we loved watching both Max and Lilly have a fun time. I think Max may outgrow the museum in the not too distant future. So, it was great to get these pictures of both of them enjoying the fun! Lilly LOVES balls. She has far too many of them at home. She wanted to stay in the ball area the entire time. We made her visit other areas but you could see her mind was elsewhere. It was soooo very crowded in there. At first, she wanted to hoard as many balls as she could. She wouldn't put them down but she wouldn't use a plastic tub to carry her stash. If her arms were full but she happened to look down and notice a ball or two rolling on the ground she would do everything in her power to pick it up. Even if that meant getting stepped on by the adults that had crammed themselves smack dab in the middle of the action. Finally, she relented and realized that there were enough balls to go around. She could drop a few into the tubes and even if they went away there were more for her to play with.

Max, on the other hand, wanted to stay put in the construction area. He waited ever so patiently for the forklift to be free. Kids would jump right in front of him and take his turn. He would just shrug and wait. Finally, he got his chance. He stayed on the lift for maybe 45 seconds and then a little girl wanted a chance. He was ever the gentleman. He learned that from his Daddy. It made me sad to think he is probably not going to be this little boy for much longer. Watching him toss the foam "stones" around and slide down the chute made me want to freeze him at this age. He's right at that precipice of not being a little kid anymore but there is still enough of the little boy in him to make me notice how much I'll miss it! He's such a sweetie and a good hearted guy. I love his little guts.

I love watching kids learn and see the wheels turn in their sweet little brains. Love it!
