I showed someone this photo and they remarked that I should put it on my blog. I don't know if I've introduced Olive on my blog? This is our pet. (As I write that, I am reminded that I need to clean her cage and give her a bath.) Olive is a gem of a pet. Guinea Pigs become "extremely attached to their pet owners". They can also be taught tricks (although, we have yet to realize this part of the owner's manual.) She lives outside during the warmer months and seems to love it. The kids actually play with her more and friends, that come over to play, love her! She doesn't make much noise and is very cute. She doesn't bite but can give you a mean scratch if she feels uneasy in the way she is being held.
My kids really want a dog. Both of them ask, almost daily, for a dog. So far, Olive, is about as far as I can take it. She is pretty darn cute, though.

I still can't believe you caved and got a pet. BC says it gives our kids hope.
I do not want to cave and get my kids a pet, but maybe this would be an option??
I think Olive is beautiful! That really IS a good picture!
My husband & my kids want a dog, but I am not willing to put in all that work. I might be able to do a guinea pig. Does it smell?
Wendy! I am so happy I found your blog! And embarrassed that it took me this long to figure out that if I click on your name, it will take me to your blog...jeesh. Your kids are so cute--this is going to be fun to catch up!
Afton has been wanting a dog for as long as I can remember. I told her for her birthday, but as that is approaching I am not very excited. I wonder if we could get a cute little Olive of our own. I am going to run it past her. Thanks for introducing the newest member of your family.
That is a very cute picture! I would stay with the guinea pig. In my home the parents do all the work with the pets and they are a lot of work!
