I am in the mood to talk about some things I love right now. Lilly is talking so much! Wherever we go she says "Hieee" to everyone and then points to me and says "Mommeee!" She introduces me with such excitement. It makes me sooo happy. She is trying her singing voice out while I drive. It is ADORABLE! If I join in with her she will try her hardest to mimic me exactly. Although, the other day, she burst into tears at my rendition of a rock ballad. She had been happy and then I sang and she became immediately SAD. When I stopped singing she went back to being happy.
Right now I am liking the state of decorating. It is inspiring to see the clean lines and bold, graphic patterns. I am not as happy with the proliferation of vinyl wall clings. It has gone overboard people! Sometimes it works. But EVERYONE seems to be doing it. Enough of that digression, I am supposed to be talking about things I love. Color is king right now. I appreciate the pale, cool colors that were in the marketplace for so long but, it is nice to see some vibrance. Though I like some of those soothing tones I have to admit it makes me happy to see bold color used the right way. I like it when people are brave and make daring choices.
I love how Max adds commentary to every book I read to him lately. He adds interesting and funny observances...sometimes yells at the characters in the story. It is fun to see how his brain works. He is such an interesting kid. We couldn't be more proud of him. He tries hard and has a good heart. I have noticed that 1st grade has changed him a bit. He uses slang words for different parts of his anatomy now. I know he learns them at school. It distresses me...but things could be worse.
I like that my good husband was just given a new (and daunting) job. He is now the Director of Disabilities for the State of Utah. His responsibilities will be so much bigger. As the Director for senior services he had a staff of 65 people and a budget of about 25 million. He now has almost 1000 employees reporting to him and a budget of 250 million! He is excited and concerned about the new challenge. I know he'll be exceptional! He is smart and so sincere in his desire to do good work for the people that depend on him. Even though he has expressed some trepidation at the enormity of the job I know he'll be great. (If you'd like to read the press release just go to google news and type in Alan Ormsby.) I hope my pride and gushing doesn't sound boastful. I am just so proud of Big Al.
And last, but certainly not least, I love all of my friends that cheer me on. You are all wonderful and life just wouldn't be the same without you. I love talking with and hearing about your lives. You make me think, and laugh, and cry, and laugh. What more could a girl ask for?

Lilly is gorgeous.
Max makes me pee my pants.
Your decorating skillz (that's the Utah spelling) give me a complex, since we have the same house and all.
Way to go Alan!
