Our Girl is 4!

Today is the day! Miss Lilly is 4 years old! My how time flies. She requested a Treasure Chest cake and, thanks to input from my friend Emily and my friend Joanna, the cake was a success! Of course we'll eat it tonight when the official celebration takes place, but Lilly had to take a look at it now. I was good with that since I'm a little concerned that the lid might fall.

Lilly awoke to jubilant birthday wishes, hugs, and kisses. Then we led her downstairs to the new kitchen that Al and I were building until 1:30 in the morning! She loved it!

I can't believe she is already 4!?! That time went fast (even though there have been moments that seemed to last an eternity!) We love our little Firecracker. She is feisty and funny. Sweet and self possessed. We are learning to appreciate her strong independent streak and the patience we are required to have, being her parents. We love her! (Despite what you may have heard.) We adore her hugs and kisses. We love reading to her. Seeing how much she loves math, reading, writing, and learning. She's wonderful! And we feel lucky and blessed to be her parents (we reserve the right to complain miserably about her antics at a later date.)
