We are still learning...

Last Saturday this conversation was had with our almost 8 year old boy. He was headed to a friends birthday party after having gone to another party the day before. "Wow. I am pretty lucky! Two parties in two days! I bet nobody else has ever done this!"
"Well," I said (bursting his bubble. Something I seem good at.) "Ethan is even luckier. He went to 2 parties yesterday and now today it is HIS birthday party!" "What?! That's not fair!" he said. Alan, trying to nip this attitude in the bud said, "First of all, that is not the proper use of "fair." This has nothing to do with fair. And second of all, we don't want you to be a kid that says things like that. We need to be happy for people when good things happen to them!" Max rolled his eyes and looked exasperated. "You guys just don't get kids at all! This is a phase I'm going through and I WILL grow out of it!"

Too funny! And yes, I think Max would like the Nutcracker. It is just so magical. It is a tradition - we have gone very year since the girls were four. I hope you go - let me know how Max enjoys it if you do!
