Yup. Alan plays Santa for friends and family. He's a great Santa, too. The kids seem to love him. He doesn't get many criers. It is so cute. The first time Lilly saw him as Santa she looked right up at him and said "oh, Daddy. Funny." She had a cute, condescending lilt to her voice. She isn't concerned at all. Max has been there when Alan is working a "gig". (That's what they call it in the 'biz') Max plays along. He knows Santa cannot possibly be everywhere and that is why helpers come out to spread the Santa magic around. He has never let the secret out.

What cute Santa helpers your little ones are. I love the picture. Santa's cheeks are nice and rosy! I think kids like to be able to keep a secret. It shows you trust them. Looks like lots of fun at your house!
does he rent himself out??? I am in charge of our ward Christmas party next year and it would be fun to have him be Santa.
My step dad used to play Santa, too. One time he flipped off a car full of teenaged boys. I nearly peed my pants.
I just had Addison look at this picture. I asked if she could tell who it was? She paused for a minute and then said, "Alan"? I asked how she knew and she said the only way she knew is that Lilly was trying to kiss him and she KNEW that Lilly would never kiss the real santa, but would cry instead.
She's probably right. :) Did you find some sleds today?
